Coach Aaron Koh

Training focus

Coach Aaron trains alongside students and the Contact Kinetics team members. He is also to be found working out on his own, as well as enjoying an active sports life outside the gym.

Coach Aaron is a Physical Education and English teacher, with an excellent knowledge of correct sports science. He is also a Level 3 NCAP Coach, and responsible for the Conditioning Program.

In his own words:

I started training with the Singapore Tae Kwon Do Federation in 1992, and moved to the  Singapore Chin Woo Athletic Association in 1993. After a short break, I joined the famed Singapore Oyama Karate Kyokushinkaikan (SOKK) where I passed my Shodan (1st Degree Black belt) grading.

I started training privately with Coach Chris in 2002, and have since competed in the Singapore Martial Arts Instructors Association, Jagsport Submission Grappling tournaments, the 10th All-Asia Knockdown Tournament, Kyokushinkaikan, Amateur Boxing and Muay Thai.

(Note: Aaron did very well at the All-Asia tournament, fighting a man 40kg's heavier, and 8 inches taller than himself. He was so well received by both the crowd and the officials that he was awarded the "Best Fighting Spirit" trophy.)
